Meta Pool: Year in Review 2023

As 2023 comes to a close, Meta Pool is thrilled to share some of the most notable accomplishments on NEAR, Aurora, Ethereum, Q Blockchain, and beyond. Thanks to the community’s continued support, which makes it all possible. 2024 promises more growth.

January

After the successful launch of Meta Staking Vote in 2022, we initiated the ambassador program with community members from Vietnam, Indonesia, Colombia, and Luxembourg.

At the end of the month, we introduced Meta Bonds — a marketplace where users who participated in Meta Yield Launchpad campaigns and still have locked assets can create listings and freely exchange these bonds with others.

February

February marked our participation in ETH Denver 2023, the second year in a row for us to attend. We were part of NEAR Day, a mini-conference inside the ETHDenver venue. The agenda was packed with many talks and panels discussing the developments on the NEAR Protocol and the Aurora ecosystem.

March

We started the first Q of 2023, materializing the first partnerships and forging great partners into the NEAR Ecosystem. Veax joined the family.

Additionally, we announced liquid staking for Ethereum through the SSV Network. We believe that interchain dApps will be the future, providing all web3 community members with the tools they need to effectively manage their crypto.

April

We collaborated with the HERE Wallet team to promote NEAR Staking, integrate it with our dApp, and provide more users access to the staking feature from their Android devices.

NEARStarted was available on Meta Yield Launchpad, and we took the first steps to bring our liquid staking services to the Aurora Network through a whitelist.

May

One of our most significant milestones was the redesign and integration of Meta Pool’s products into a liquid staking platform, all-in-one.

“Our Ecosystem dApp goes far beyond Liquid Staking. This is a cutting-edge, integrated proposal for on-chain interaction, allowing Aurora, ETH, and NEAR token holders to engage their digital assets and create real value with Proof of Stake blockchains.” – Claudio Cossio.

Additionally, Meta Pool DAO came into existence to enable everyone to participate in all decisions regarding the protocol and be rewarded for their active participation.

June

June marked the start of our DAO, commencing with the BuyBack program, where active voters earned our governance tokens for their participation in the Meta Pool DAO.

The community is a part of all that we do. That’s why part of our team traveled to Korea to connect with our community. It was a great experience and marked one of our first international Staking Party events.

In terms of security, we prioritize the safety of our users and diligently work to provide a secure platform for the community, venture capitalists, and institutional funds.

Halborn approved our second audit with flying colors, providing increased security to our dApp and instilling confidence in our users regarding their funds and our operations. Currently, Meta Pool has not suffered any hack or inconvenience.

Thanks to this, we launched the first liquid staking token on Aurora Network – stAUR.

July

Our 3rd chain integration came; we and all the community will remember July for the launch of Ethereum Staking on Meta Pool. July 17th marked the beginning of more challenges and opportunities in web3.

The First Voting Round of Meta Pool DAO concluded successfully:

  • Over 11 million votes were cast for initiatives across Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
  • A total of 950k $META distributed to voters.

We visited our community in Vietnam!

The warm welcome from the community and our fantastic partners made us feel right at home. During our visit, we hosted an exciting live event: Staking Challenge. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community and showcase the power of Liquid Staking.

August

We announced our partnership with Gitcoin to fund the LATAM Summer Round, focusing on impactful projects in Latin America. We joined forces to drive the next phase of adoption for decentralized protocols in emerging markets.

Meta Pool Partnership with Gitcoin

We launched our first component built on BOS – Ethereum Liquid Staking.

Voting Round 2 concluded successfully funding three initiatives and receiving a total of 13.8M votes cast.

The Meta Pool team embarked on an exciting journey to the Ethereum Argentina event. We didn’t just attend; we hosted engaging side events, spotlighting workshops on NEAR BOS components, SSV Network, and our impactful collaboration with Gitcoin

September

Our second component built on BOS was launched, and this time, we introduced on-chain governance.

Meta Pool Improvement Proposals. The first mpIP proposed an increase from 15% to 25% of delegation from TVL to node validators through votes.

Voting Round 3 concluded successfully, with over 27M votes cast.

October

After months of tireless effort, we meticulously prepared to achieve another huge milestone. We deployed validators on the Ethereum Network using SSV Network technology, and officially, in October, we completed the integration with SSV Network.

The Voting Rounds were renamed as mpDAO Grants. mpDAO Grants 4 started with proposals about:

  • Workshops
  • DeFi Education
  • IRL events
  • BOS Components
  • Onboarding users into web3

We announced our partnership with Tenet Protocol that will enable mpETH holders to delegate their LST in a non-custodial manner by either becoming validators or delegators on the TENET network.

mpETH was on fire!

Also, we announced that mpETH is available on Teller Protocol, where you can lend and borrow Ethereum-based assets with time-based liquidation.

November

We were back at the Staking Summit by Staking Rewards, the largest staking ecosystem event in the world.

Meta Pool participated in the Staking Summit, showcasing the remarkable achievements this year, the challenges we have faced, and our continuous collaboration with great partners.

December

mpDAO Grants 5 concluded with 5 out of 9 projects approved.

To conclude an incredible year, we announced Q Liquid Staking on Q Blockchain, establishing Meta Pool as the pioneer in liquid staking on Q Blockchain. This also marks our 4th integration, and our journey of expanding to more blockchains continues.

Optimism for 2024? We announced our collaboration with Velodrome to incentivize pools for mpETH.

With more integrations, more users can access the benefits of liquid staking. We integrated NEAR Mobile through wallet selector. It’s time to stake NEAR seamlessly on metapool.app.

Currently, Meta Pool is delegating to 126 node validators on NEAR Protocol.
