On Thursday, January 12th, Mailchimp, informed Near.org about a breach affecting the email addresses of Near Wallet users. In the last couple of days, scammers have been contacting Near Wallet users via email impersonating Meta Pool. They are requesting Stakers to transfer their NEAR to a new smart contract (Screenshot below). The emails have been sent from the following domain, meta-pool.online.
At Meta Pool, we take security very seriously. We want to remind all Stakers that Meta Pool is a non-custodial platform, meaning that the wallet owner is in complete control and has custody of his private keys and information. We do not collect any personal information from our service users.
EMAILS
Meta Pool never collects Staker’s emails and any personal information. We built a decentralized and non-custodial platform. This means we cannot and will not contact you via email regarding your stakes or wallet keys.
MESSAGES
Members of the Meta Pool team will never send private messages via Telegram, Discord, Twitter, or any other communication channel asking for funds, or your wallet key or requiring any private information.

Should you receive any suspicious emails or messages from potential scammers please warn our team via our official Discord and Telegram channels. This way we can alert the rest of the community.
