Liquid Staking Through the Aurora EVM
Ever since Aurora launched its EVM, the NEAR network has been open to users from the Ethereum network. One early problem with any EVM can be the lack of DeFi infrastructure on the platform, and the complex bridges and swaps needed to use native protocols. Meta Pool is proud to be the leading liquid staking provider on Aurora and allow users to stake wNEAR without having to leave bridge any assets. Meta Pool on the Aurora chain supports Metamask wallet and will allow users to seamlessly stake from the Aurora mainnet.
A Guide to Staking wNEAR on Aurora
The process to set up your Metamask with Meta Pool is just a few simple steps! First, you visit the Meta Pool dApp on the Aurora mainnet. Metamask will ask you to connect your wallet to the website, enter your password to unlock the wallet and pick the wallet address you want to login to. Select Next and Connect to connect the wallet.
Once you have logged in, you will reach the homepage of the Meta Pool dApp. On the Stake page, you click on Approve for the smart contract first, then select Metamask, and Confirm.
You can start staking your $wNEAR by entering the amount you want to stake, click Stake to activate, and click Confirm on Metamask.
At this point, your tokens are staked and you are earning your rewards. You will see the value of your $stNEAR increasing relative to $wNEAR, accruing your staking rewards.
If you want to add $stNEAR in the Metamask, use this contract: 0x07f9f7f963c5cd2bbffd30ccfb964be114332e30 . This address will allow you to seamlessly interact with stNEAR through Meta Mask.
Unstaking Your stNEAR
Whenever you decide to unstake, the process is simple and easy to do. First, return to the dApp and go to the unstake page. Click on Approve and Confirm on Metamask.
You can now enter the amount of stNEAR you want to unstake, click on Liquid Unstake and Confirm on Metamask. Your $wNEAR is in your wallet.
Now you’re all done! You can rest easy with your new staking rewards, and use them to earn even more yield down the line. For more information about how Aurora users can interact with the suite of Meta Pool products, click here.
Staking wNEAR - Integrations Move Us Forward
Now that you’re staking wNEAR – you’re ready to earn! However, participating in liquid staking across ecosystems is more than just lucrative. The integration we have created is indicative of our much broader commitment to expanding ecosystem collaboration and increasing the usability of web3 and DeFi platforms.
This is clear with the recent release of our API/SDK which makes it possible for any wallet building on NEAR to seamlessly integrate stNEAR. Meta Pool’s liquid staking asset is the most widely available on the NEAR platform, and we have worked hard to ensure that. Whether you are staking wNEAR or any other asset through any other platform – you can rest easy knowing that our team will bring you the next big integration to get even more value out of your defi holdings. Keep on Staking!
